I ran into the same problem after I had avalve job done on mine. What I did was got some emery cloth, soaked it with WD40, removed the nut ( below the pivot ) and resurfased the bottom side of the nut. I had 4 non adjustable valves. I think that your cam really ( unfortunately) is the problem. Well good luck.
If your head was worked on, someone may have removed the cam journals, which at that piont it REALLY could be trouble.
