Well guys, I started to take the head off b/c my intake valve on the #6 cylinder was stuck open. I got intake/exhaust off and all the little parts. I could see down into the combustion chamber and see a shiney part. Hrm, that looks like the head of a bolt. Gee, It looks like the airfilter plate attachemnt screw... hrm, sure enough, the bolt was gone. completely stripped outta its threads. God.. Well, I am going to take the head off tonight, hoping I dont mess up the camchain any as this is my first head removal.. well at least on a car. haha! j/k. Anyways, what can I expect to find? I am afraid of the worst. A bolt sticking into the top of the piston w/ little metal shrapnel everywhere. If I do have to replace the piston.. what type of work is involved here? would i be better off to go and buy a new engine or what? Ive never done any bottom end work on a car, top end too as a matter of fact. If I am lucky and my valve is just messed up, I am planning on getting a vavle job done on it, but i have read that if I get a valve job I will burn oil b/c of the pistons rings being old. Im taking it that those are pretty hard to fix too... I dont wanna drop my engine but hey maybe I can o find me a nice turbo. hrm. Figures, I just got a nice well paying job and am gunna hafta blow all my money on the car, soo much for taking it to the paintshop sometime this week. ha!. Just venting my frustration. thanks
