Ok i tried to seem like i knew what i was doing when you peoples told me to do a valve adjustment.....

Well, 2 questions really

1. What is a valve adjustment

2. How do you do it? lol if someone maybe has a FSM and could scan some pages for me it would be awsome

Sorry if i seem like some kinda idiot this is really the first car i've worked on, all my other ones we're buy and re-sells (plus they were both carbed)

Thanks

No offense, but if you do not know what a valve adjustment is, then I would suggest that you take it to a reputable mechanic and have it done. It requires feeler gauges and some knowledge of the operation of an engine in order to know at what point in the revolution of the engine can which valves be adjusted. I don't know why the adjustment was suggested unless they were making a bit too much noise.

Well, i am just starting to learn about engine mechanics, my 82 280zxT is my first work on car, i mean i've done basics like tune ups and such, but you know what they say,

Some people gotta piss on the electric fence for themselves to learn....

Have a nice day

Matt, where are you. If you are anywhere near Seattle I would be happy to help you get started. If else where you could join a local club (most have people who will help during tech days etc.), look through your local community collage for a course. It is not rocket science but it can be frustrating at times. I suggest buying the best tools you can afford (Sears is safe) and check out the pawn shops for name brands. Invest in a manual, I perfer the Nissan Factory books. Call or Email if you want to discuss further. Don Pappe IZCC #7130 206-461-2231 [email protected]
