Today I did a full valve adjustment job on my 73 240Z and found that everyone of my valves were out of tune even thought i had a valve adjument done by pros about 4 months ago. What would cause all my valves except 1 to be out of adjustment? Today i thought I was doing it all wrong but then when I started the car and it purred like it was new i thought it must have been something wrong wtih my valves for all of them to be messed up.
I noticed they were all really screwed down tight.
Could that be my valve seals??

You may be on to something. Do you have hardened valve seats?

I don't beleive so, I am pretty sure this car has never had a valve job done to it.

I would consider hardened valve seats a good investment, especially with the unleaded gasoline today. (BTW: I consider the elimination of leaded fuels a good thing, despite the hardships it creates on our classic cars. If you want to debate this issue, email me privately.) I had hardened seats put in when I had my engine rebuilt.
