Hello:

Yesterday, I took my 83 ZX out for the first time this year and experienced the following:

There was a massive vacuum formed in the gas tank. There was a loud sucking sound coming from the gas tank area. I then removed the gas tank cap to relieve the vacuum. I then noticed that gasoline was being percolated into the neck of the filler tube. The gasoline was HOT. It drained down the filler tube into the tank. The engine would not idle until the gas cap was removed. It ran at highway speeds quite well. The temperature was 88 degrees and the driving was uninterrupted in 5th gear.

The fan for the injectors never came on.

This car has always had a vacuum formed in gasoline tank Whenever it was running. Is this correct?

Suggestions/comments

Be well,

I have an s30 so im not 100% sure on S130s but I'm guessing one of the vent lines to your tank (either the carbon canister/vapor tank/all the above is clogged - give them a look).

That's exactly what I think. Your evap system must be plugged or it would not draw a vacuum like that.
