I have a 1977 280Z and I am about done rebuilding a 350 small block to swap for the L6. Now on to the transmission. I have read JTR and wanted to make sure I go looking for the "right" transmission. I have decided I don't want to go the T-56 way...too much work and too tight. I am going to look for an 1988 - 1992 T-5 transmission (World Class) out of a Camaro . I also need the fly wheel, pressure plate, clutch and bell housing.
Is there anything else I should know?
Anything to avoid (like the input shaft with 14 splines)?
If I buy it from a private party, how do I know it is from an 88-92?
Any help or comments will be appreciated!
