<BLINK>Well, here is the situation...</BLINK>I have A Triple Mikuni Carb system on a 74 260 Z. Also that Z's have two fuel pumps(Mechanical on engine and Electric on fuel tank). I have been hearing that I should take out the Mechanical pump and leave the electric pump when you put triple carb systems. Should I take out the Mechanical....and why???? What happens???

<b>RE: Triple Mikuni Carbs and Fuel Pump Situation

Well lets see if I can help here. Most people recommend removing the mech pump because when they do triples they are usually running a lot more hp and that the stock pumps probably won't handle the fuel delivery. As far as I'm concerned I would remove both pumps and put in a new electric pump. Holly makes a decent pump "the Blue" and fits perfectly in the stock location. It can handle all the fuel needs your carbs will ever need. Don't forget to buy a fuel pressure regulator (no matter what you decide to do.) Your carbs are sensitive to fuel pressure and is critical.
Does that help?
