Trans. Input Vibration

I'm still chasing a rpm-sensitive vibration in my 77 280Z. I've replaced everything forward of the transmission (I REPEAT, EVERYTHING FORWARD OF THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED), with no effect on this vibration. The vibration is present at about 3000 rpm in all gears, and is much worse when accelerating hard. However, with the clutch depressed, or the transmission in neutral, it is still present at about the same rpm. The problem is not speed-sensitive in any way.

My son's near-identical 78 280Z has no hint of this vibration.

Has any reader had experience with a transmission input shaft that caused vibration?

When you say everything forward of the trans does that include the engine? Seriously what have you changed? It can't be in the transmission based on what you've said. It could be the pressure plate, flywheel or in the engine. The harmonic balancer could have spun , I have never seen it happen in a Z but there's always a first time. Did it just start doing it or has it been doing it for a while and getting worse? Where do you feel the vibration, the steering wheel, stick shift, gas pedal or throughout the whole car? Is it making any noise?
