I am reassembling my L28ET and I have the piston back in and the rods connected to the crank, but I am looking for the torque specs on the connecting rod bearings (the two bolts that hold the connecting rod to the crankshaft) and either I don't have the name for the component right or my manual doesn' have the torque spec written down. please help

I had the same problem. the specs are in the manual, under Big end. as in the larger end of the rods. so look for either big end, or big end bolts. i think they should be around 65lbs, don't remember for sure.

In my book they say 36 ft. lbs, haynes 79-83. I've got other issues with my book, like it says it goes to 83, but they always say that for 81-82 models... and 79-80, do this, or that, and tell you the differences from year to year, but never say anything or even mention 83, so I'm guessing its the same as the 82.
Good luck on the project.

My FSM says 33-44 ft-lb for "connecting rod big end nut" for the L28. It makes no distinction between turbo and non-turbo.

Hope this helps!
