what size rims and tires can i put on a stock 83 280ZX,wana go to 15 or 16 inch is it possable with stock springs????

I know 15, 16, 17's fit. I've got 17" rims on my car right now with stock springs.

Lots of info in the archives on this subject. Try searching and you'll find a lot of answers.

Yea, I run 17's with spacers. Only rub is taking high speed "dips" in the road. No problem at all in daily driving with stock springs.

i got 16's with lower springs...no rubbing ever

im running 17" rims with yolkahama AVS ES100s 225/45/ZR17 with tokico springs and struts with 44mm modern-motorsports wheel adapters.. im also using the stock Z lug pattern not the honda ones..

you can even go to 18" with big fat tires in back ,, if you are willing to spend the cheese ...

I have 17s with spacers and it doesn't handle NEARLY as well as the 16s I had on it that bolted right to the hub. I might go 17s that are wide in the back like 9" maybe or so, and put flares on it.
