Hello all,

I need some help from the tire Gurus.

I am thinking of getting these rims:

Front - 18x8 HP Split-5 wheels 5x114.3 Hyper Silver Light
Rear - 18x8 HP Split-5 wheels 5x114.3 Hyper Silver Light

And was wondering what sizes do I need in tires to fit these rims. I was contemplating

245/45/18 in the Front
275/45/18 in the Rear

Would these work? and if not any suggestions what sizes I should shoot for?

Thanks All.

Oops..

I meant :

Rear - 18x9 HP Split-5 wheels 5x114.3 Hyper Silver Light

If the 275's are too much for the rear, any recommendations what sizes I should look for in both?

I have 275s in the rear (Stock springs) with only the passenger rubbing during spirited driving (like Mega). Still try to figure out where it runbs. Since you have 9", you may need to go to 265s.

I have 285s in the back with 1" lowering springs and have zero rubbing in any kind of driving.
Heres my setup:
18x8.5 w/ 245/35s offset 30
18x9.5 w/ 285/30s offset 45

i think its the offset that is causing the rubbing issue

i was either going to get 275/40 or 255/55 on 17x9" wide wheels with a +35 offset, and the people that have that setup have had no rubbing

Great guys, thanks for all the input. I kinda have an idea how to approach this now.

I guessI will check with the guy I am buying em from to make sure I have the correct offset.

Thanks.

ssm86 is right. Most rubbing issues with the rear end is that not all aftermarket wheels have a perfect offset to run tires like 275, 285, or even 295. From what I had read i may be wrong but wheels like the yokohama avs wheels which supposedly were designed for the 300zx can fit 295's on them without any rubbing issues at all.

Im about 99% sure thats the same wheels ive got. Im gonna end up running 235/40s and 275/35s. 275/45 is almost a 28" tall tire not gonna work out to well for ya the 275/35 is right at a 26" tall tire a much much better choice.

Ok.. so this is what I have so far:

Spoke to the guy selling the rims.

Front - 18x8 HP Split-5 wheels 5x114.3 Hyper Silver Light
Rear - 18x9 HP Split-5 wheels 5x114.3 Hyper Silver Light

Both have Offset of 38+

So would this work?

Front: 235/40/18
Rear: 275/35/18

Thanks all for the input.
