so a couple weeks ago i was telling you all about my skipped timing belt, well i finally had time to do it, the result was bullshit, took the belt off set the timing , set the gears then put the bolt back in the crank, the thing that happend is the bolt turns but the belt nor the cam gears do, do i have to put the harmonic balacer back on, the weird thing about it is that i think the crank is turning?so if so how will i ever know where the bottom end mark if the crank moved? i am confused and pissed off

To me it sounds like the keyway broke or isn't installed. Therefore the crank isn't turning the gear and not turning the belt.

go to autozone and get yourself one of those mirrors on a stick..... thats what i used. oh yeah and a white-out pen to mark the dimple.

And other than locating the dimple what does putting white out on the gear have to do with the belt not turning while turning over the engine?
