i have an 81 280zx turbo changed out the dist for one from an 82. Set the timing initially at tdc # 1 on compression stroke. I know that it shouldn't matter what position the rotor button is in as long as it is firing # 1 plug . did all of that but it will not make an attempt to start.am i missing something here? the car ran with this distributor in it but i could not get it on its timing because it was not close enough to set at 20 degrees. thus i had to take it out again.any help would be appreciated . ps thanks for all the help so far.
