82 280zx I'm doing the head gasket and figured it's got almost 200k miles on it so should probably put a new timing set in. I've got new timing set installed but it just doesn't seem right. I don't have access to the fsm right now but I think I remember reading the curved guide above the tensioner should be adjusted to take as much slack out of chain as possible. I did so but it pushed the plunger all the way back very little if any gap between it and the tensioner body. Am I way off here? It just seems too tight. What am I missing ? It seems like it should have more stroke. Has anyone else ever noticed this
