I posted a query about My '77 280 having some weird problems on 5-28 if I recall correctly. I wisely combined the bulk of the tips recommended and sure enough the problems seems solved. I went over every electrical connection under the hood and cleaned the wires and the contacts especially the fusible links. And VOILA the car is running reliably, not necessarily perfect but at least I can go back and forth with some peace o'mind.

To all the guys that helped me out thanks. I'll try to drop a persoanl thank you when I get a chance. Thanks again.

By the way. . .are there are hose replacement kits for the 77 or wiring replacement kits??

Don't have to replace all the wiring, just get the FI connectors at Autozone. You'll need 10 of them @ $6/ea

Bosch connectors have better clips....

and they only cost me $5.65 a piece....I love a deal and quality! The part # is 1-287-013-003 and should be able to find them easily at VW parts dealers.

Steve...your still on line!!!
