or should I say thanks to everyoine who didnt tell me that the 300zx LSD diff housing CAN'T, REPEAT CAN'T be used in place of the 280ZXT '82 unless you made two very important modifications. first you would have to grind a part of the 300 housing for it to be able to accommodate all the bolts.
BUT, the overall distance from the bolts to the mont stud is NOT THE SAME. you would have to modify the mount to make it fit.
I am having a very very hard time doing this, I even felt alone because no one warned me about this stuff.
I can say I am a little mad about it.

now it is 7PM and I wanted to take my car out tonight and it just wont happen because I was wasting my time trying to use the 300's diff housing.
for this reasons and others I will try to make some pages about this with photos and comments.

well, now you know and I know that the 300 housing dont fit directly to the 280, better change the guts and that's it
maybe it was the simplest path in the 1st time.

thanks for hearing

What part of the housing are you grinding is it the aluminum rear cover this can not be used . Switch the covers with old diff . Other than that I did not see any difference between the two rear ends . I did this in a 280 so I am not sure for ZX, but the case seemed to look the same except for cover and front flange . Mine went in with a few pinch fingers . Tell us were it is hitting mabey we can help.
