can any one tell me how there fsm says to check the afm for a 76 280z or a year that use the same afm.the afm thats on my car may be a 78 but i'm not sure thanks for any help.....freez

i just wanted to say it before someone else does,,,,,,FSM,,,,factory service manual. no really,,,it goes into detail about testing it and if you don't wana plunk down the $70 for one, just do what i did,,,,local public library!!!! it's free!!!! i think i'm late on checking back in again though................

there's several resistance measurements that have to be made across the various pins at the ecu connector. Disconnect the harness connector from the ecu, and measure the following at the connector

Pins 6-8: Approx. 180 ohms
7-8: Continuity (small resistance is ok)
8-9: Approx. 100 ohms

If you don't get these values, the afm or wiring harness are bad. there's other checks, but for the fuel pump contacts and air temperature sensor.
