I have a 76 280 Z. Recently the temperature gauge began going up and down intead of holding a constant temp. I replaced the t-stat and am confident that it is functioning ok; however, I still have a problem. There also appears to be a relationship with movement of the oil pressure when the temp gauge goes up or down. I also replaced voltage regulator and still not change.

Anybody got any suggestions? Thanks

Can you give more details on the conditions when this happens?
Speed- does the car cool down over 40-50 mph?, temp., A/C or not., etc.

It could be many things:
Rad.; fan clutch; hose collapse; did you test the new t/stat before install?
