I have a 81 turbo z, It seems to run fine, I live in colorado and when Im going down the high way or somtimes the rode when it is cold, it will start runing super rich I mean like sputtering some times backfires and you can see the temp gauge geting cooler and cooler. you cant clean it out, I was wondeing witch sensor might be causing this ?: could it be the : thermostat, exaust gas sensor ? water temp sensor ? help this is geting to be a real pain !! Thanks

Sounds like the thermostat is sticking open. Replace it with an OEM 180 degree one.

The fan clutch could also be locking up but you would hear the fan making lots of noise after 2500 RPM.
