t-top weatherstripping

My t-tops have leaked ever since I had my car re-painted and had new weatherstripping put on. My weatherstripping is not glued to the car along the top, where the t-tops sit. I think this is how water gets in. Is it supposed to be glued up there? If so, what kind of weatherstripping glue should I use so that I can get the weatherstripping off again without ruining it (like for a future paint job). The guy at the paint store said I could just use weatherstripping glue remover. Anybody have any experience with this?

You glue it down chances are good that you will tear it trying to get it back off. You may want to clean up the area and go ahead and paint around the tops the color your going to paint the car then glue it down. Will only take a small amount of paint to do that area.......
well the thing is I am not going to paint te car any time soon. The paint is ok. But maybe in a few years. I had a parts car for a while that had all original paint and weatherstripping. It looked like it had some sort of really gooey glue that would allow you to take off the weatherstripping if you have to. Right now, my weather stripping is only held in place by the part that snaps onto the roof, and some of the adhesive strips that were built into the weatherstripping. I am pretty sure the part that goes around the t-top openin is also supposed to be glued somewhat along the rubber that goes in the groove where the t-top fits. Mine has no glue there and I think this is where the water is getting in. I can take pics to better illustrate what I am talking about later.
