Im looking to make a reasonable 250-300whp and i want your guys knowledge/advice on using the stock bottom end, ive heard they can handle alot, im not trying to blow a hole thru the side of my block, i have a 81-83 F54 with good compression numbers, wanna know if its worth it to keep the stock rods and pistons

Turbo charge is the BIGGEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK, but you can have fun with NA power too

You can pair an F54 block with an N42 head and with that you get the flattops and high compression. pair that with a a header and a 3.90 rear end and you will have a nicely powered NA engine and still be able to use pump gas. Several guys have done it and more will so in the future, including myself.

read up over at Datsun Z Garage- ZCAR Performance Mods for L-Series and that talks all about the engines, transmissions, and diffs for the Z and goes in depth about the setup that I mentioned above. Cheers.

Bon
