I was checking it again yesterday on my way home, I left it in 4th gear and the speedo was only off by 1.2 mph at 65mph (speedo said 65 & gps said 63.8). Put in 5th and it was by 7 mph again at the same speed 65mph. Since the gear the speedo cog rides on is always the same (size not speed) this should not happen should it?
Thanks again for all your help.

You're right Rob. That shouldn't be happening. something else is going fishy.
When was the last time you had your GPS calibrated and what is it's published accuracy?

Never had it calibrated, However it seems to be right on when I drive my truck or my wifes car. Also when I had my flight in a F-16 before I retired from the Air force I took it with me and it was not really that much off. I could tell you how much, but then I'd have to kill you.LOL I'll have to get back with you on the second question. I do know that it and all non military versions of GPS are purposely programed with a margin of error.
Thank's
