Not sure about this but on my 76 I unbolted the engine mounts then put a small piece of wood on my hydraulic jack under the oil pan and lifted the engine an inch.
Once up you can put a piece of 2x4 in between the mount and frame to hold it up.
This allows for plenty of manuverability underneath.This works good too when replacing the oil pan gasket. Preferably the wheel should be straight but probably doesnt matter.
