I have a 78 with 205/50 15 inch tires I get a lot of play and the steering is a little unresponsive. I've replaced the steering coupler with a Motorsport Urethane unit and the two bushings that mount the steering rack to the subframe. That helped but The problem is still there what should I do next?

Try checking the tie rod ends on the steering rack. Those go out periodically. Also you may have some slop in the rack itself. I had to rebuild one once. Also, while you're at it, check your ball joints. No, the ones on the car, silly!

I WANT TO REPLACE THE BUSHINGS ON THE RACK, WAS IT DIFFICULT? IE DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE WHOLE RACK OFF THE CAR?
