I have a 83 NA that will start but then dies about a second after. The tach is not working niether is the fuel punp. I can put 12 volts directly to the pump to try to start it though. It kind of acts like the cold start injector is the only one firing so as to give it fuel to start, but it will quit about 1 to 2 seconds later. It will do this 2 to 3 times then nothing. I have to let it sit and then about 2 minutes later try it again (same senario all over)

Possibly a bad FI relay? Sounds like the injectors aren't firing. You can fool your pump into running by pulling the START connection off of the Starter solenoid. Now hold the key in the start position. Can you hear the pump run now? If not, either the relay is bad, or the voltage feed to the relay is bad. On earlier model cars, this was controlled through a fusible link in the engine bay. Not sure about your year, though. If you think you have such a thing, look for the one that controls the FI relay.
