I "think" I have found my starting problem with my 260Z. I had asked about the problem I had with the car sometimes starting adn sometimes just clicking. I checked all the things people mentioned and then I thought of something. My car is an automatic and if I put it in gear, it does the clicking EVERY time. SO....could it be the savety inhibitor switch? If so, must I replace it OR can I just by-pass it????

You can bypass it by jumping the two wires together... the switch is on the tranny, unhook the wires and make a jumper to plug into the two ends.
But... if you do this you will defeat the safety feature! Car will start in gear. My car was an auto, until I installed the 5 speed. I had to jump the inhibitor.
