I own 81 280zx 2+2 N/a
It runs excellent and drives excellent.
But It's very difficult to start up. I've tried pumping the gas, holding it to the floor, and not giving it any gas when i start it up, but it still takes a while to finally fire up.

I've thought it might be the fuel pump or fuel filter although i changed the fuel filter about 3 months ago.
If it is the fuel pump, I don't want to pay as much as victoria british and motorsport wants me to. Does anybody know of a place where i can get a cheap universal one or something (maybe even a rebuilt one). Thanks for any advice.

RE: Start up Problems

Make sure that your fuel system is holding pressure and not leaking down. If the system leaks down it will take an extended period of cranking and fuel pump function to pressurize the system. I've forgotten when Nissan did and did'nt have a cold start injector but check it out. Also check to see that your auxillary air regulator is functioning correctly.
