I recently became the proud (now frustrated) owner of a perfect 83 Turbo 2+2 Automatic. This car is a gorgeous, loaded T-top with 120k miles. Ran perfect but is now stalling very randomly. Usually restarts 5 or 10 minutes later. Sometimes it is fine for a day or two, some times it wont make it down the block. Ignition appears to cut out, and when it does, the fuel pump wont prime when the ignition is turned on. Took it to the Nissan dealer and they said the crank sensor in the distributor was bad, I replaced it but no luck. Doesn't seem to matter wether engine is warm or cold. Now I'm thinking EFI control unit. Checked fuel pump, and all relays already. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I miss my Z.

Are you sure it's fuel? Sounds like the ignition module to me. Next time it dies check for spark while cranking it. If you don't have any the most likely culprits are the coil or ignition mod.

Hope this helps.

I kind of had the same problem with my 78. Before you buy any parts, check the coil and ALL connectors that are related to the fuel injection system. Usually the bullet connectors for the temp sensor will go bad and cause stalling.
