71' 240 and it has a squeak when running. It may be the belt, but it might be something worse. It sounds like it is coming form the alternator area. Anybody have any ideas.

Could be the belt, could be the alt pully, could be the water pump. Wiggle the fan. Does the impeller on the water pump move? If it does, replace the water pump.
