I drove out to the new home of the 88SS and took some pics. The Guy who owned the SS before SportDriverZx had it repainted and had pin stripes painted along the side. So it might not look dead on like an 88 SS, but once you look under it and see the LSD, and sit in those kick ass recaro Seats...you know its a True SS. The engine needs some detailing and the first owner damaged the front end a little. ; ( SO a very small amount of engine detail and body work and this SS should look like new. Also he has some SS shiro wheels that he got off E-BAY.

He's changing the oil and getting all the Diff, and transmission fluids today so I dont know when he will come on here and give you guys some more info about it.

HERE ARE THE PICS.

thanks Travis for taking pix of my new baby. was great to meet you today. man I only got like 1/4th done that I wanted to get done. I got the Nissan filter, Mobil 1 motor oil, Redline Tranny oil, and Mobile 1 diffy oil all ready to go. and I was trying to change the hood struts but theres some metal attachment at the top that I cant figure out how to get off the nissan hood strut yet. seems like Ill have to drill it out or something.
and I have silvana silverstar bulbs just waiting to go in, and Im going to get my K&N filter out of my 86T tommorow and throw it in the SS. I spent so much money today, and am not even close to being done. bwahahah.

and Travis. your Z rocks. its stupid fast with 10psi! I wanna ride in it on the freeway.

Beauty pics. When I changed the hood struts on my 84 and 86, I cut the pin that goes through the hood end of the cartridge that forms the hinge for the bracket that physically attaches to the hood. There was a new bolt to replace that in the package with the new cartridge.

Hope that helps. Can't believe they would use a different system for Shiros.

300zx86t: I havent decided yet. I mean, its so great just the way it is. it sounds wonderful, has plenty of power, handles great, and looks nice. the only thing Im actually planning on doing so far is putting a K&N from my 86T into it and maybe a boost guage, if I can find a place to put it where I wouldnt damage the interior. the stock exhaust sounds like no other Z Ive heard but it doesnt look all that impressive. its the stock one. I might eventually throw a HKS exhaust on there cuz I loved it on my 86T. and thats about it.

roger: the way you said it sounds like a similar setup on my Shiro. I think Im going to have to drill out the pin that keeps the braket on the stock strut than use the screw that came with the aftermarket one to screw the bracket onto the aftermarket one

Yeh thats cool, If I had one I probably wouldnt do anything to drastic either. Make sure to look for rust I just got through replacing a piece of metal in my hatch I cant stand rust on my car.
