Hey guys,

I got a 280zxt 81 and is having problems with the speedo. Is it true that if you take the guage off, look at the cable, and if the inner cable is turning along with the wheels the cable and the gearing are o.k. T/F?

Will a 79' speedo (120mph) work on a 81 (80mph)? I have both and on the 79' the speedo has less wires (2 less).

Plugged the 70' speedo in and nothing. Rpm's started not to work right. What am I doing wrong? Maybe I'll just go back to 81' stock. What do yall think?

Hey guys,

got a 81 280zxt and is having speedo problems and RPM problems.

When pulling out the speedometer, should the needle be pointing toward a certain # or what? Does it matter? There's a copper colored circle piece in the rear of it which has a metal catching piece on it that prevents the needle from passing a certain point on the guage (80 mph). Is Callibration needed? What is the proceedure?

My RPM Guage started to trip out! I took all that sh*t apart and now the thing won't work. All it has is a plug in to it. The dang needle fell off somewhere too. Didn't have a clue that it disapeared! Is there a special trick to this ? Is Callibration needed? What is the proceedure?
