Phantom:
Could you pass along the info that you offered me, on the rear boxes, and how they fit in the car.

By the way, Yuichi, the man who invented the panel is Brian Tasker. If you have any questions, regarding the box, you can ask him personally at

Brian Tasker <[email protected]>

Good luck.

Chris, I'm sure there is a local place we can pick these boxes up from, in our area. Do you know where? I'm going to wait until new years to get my Z inspected. That way I don't have to worry about emissions. Z ya

Here is Tasker's e-mail adress
Brian Tasker <[email protected]>

He invented the box, so he'll be able to give a little more info on it.

I bought one for my 72z and it fits perfectly and sounds good, too overpriced though. Look in your phone book and talk to a reputable car hi-fi salon, they will be happy to help you and give prices and ideas

Good luck-evan

Don't do the speaker box

Just go to a reputable car audio dealer and have them cut in a set of very good 6x9's. They fit, with a little cutting, in the same place as the 5 and halves. I beleive the only thing to watch for is a small wiring harness (I think its for the brake lights) but a good dealer should know to look for this. Also, get a good set of 6x9's, mine are top of the line Pioneer Premeirs, it makes a difference.

Well I had cerwin vega 3 way 6x9's in my car intell they were ripped off. THen This is what I did. I built a box that would sit below the rear deck under the stock carpet but the speekers were sticking up out of the carpet at a 45degree angle. I went with 2 8 speekers this time and they sound much better then the 6x9 IMO. When the base hits it thumps you! But my system is balanced out with 6'cerwinvegas in the door and two titanum tweeters as well....BUILD YOUR OWN SPEEKER BOX, I DID! ITS WAY EASY TO DO!!

Re: What I can do for you in Ft.Worth area

I work in a commercial cabinet shop in the FtWorth area and have the experience and access to all the tools needed to build what ever type of box you want or can dream up. I once made a box that fit two 12 Kenwoods behind the seat of a Toyota pickup(not extended cab) and you could put the seat back all the way. Thumped hard and carried good. It had no back or bottom and was cut to fit the cab. I'll post pics of the box I have behind the back seat of my truck on my site and some other tidbits I made to mount the amps. Check for them soon.
