I've got a L28-N42 engine in a '72 240, and it has a smog
pump in the engine compartment. (But it's not hooked up,
since CA laws don't require smog checks for that year anymore).
The engine still has all the air lines going all over the top of it...
I think they're really ugly, (plus they're not doing anything), so
I plan on removing them.
My question is, if that engine was originally designed with
all that smog equipment on it, does it have a smog camshaft
inside? Will removing the smog equipment from the engine
make it run bad because of this?
