I am going to change the head on my zxt. I need to know how to set the valve timing. If I were putting the old head back on, I could just mark the chain and sprocket. But what if I am putting a different head on? This is the first time doing this for me and I won't be doing it for another month or 2. Also is there anything I can do to the head while it is off without rebuilding it that will help it perform better. Like cleaning the carbon from the head and valves? Thanks, any help greatly appreciated.

How old is your timing chain? If you go to the trouble to change the head I think you would be wise to change it as well.
