Well I got my rear Brembos today. As I was looking at them I saw that it said minimum thickness is 16mm. My question is, the 30mm calipers that I have on the back, are these too small? How do they get the 30mm size, is it width or thickness?

You have to take into consideration that along with the 18mm or so rotor, you also have to squeeze in two 10mm thickness pads as well when everything is new. I am assuming that is where they get the 30mm umber.

As for the 16mm minimal thickness..that is a machining number used for when you have your rotors turned at a shop. If the thickness goes smaller than that value, then the rotors are no good. When the rotors get to small then have a greater tendency to warp.
