I'm in the process of cleaning and repainting the original air cleaner housing for my 72 240Z. I'm having trouble locating seal strips that seals the cover and air filter. I'm wondering if anybody knows where to locate the seals or what to use as a substitute.

I can't remember exatly what they look like but it never hurts to take a stab at it anyway, have you looked at larger O-ring type rubber that you can run along the length. or maybe take a look at a J.C whitney catolog, they sell different types of weatherstriping rubber setups. Also take a look at a boat shop. they sell all sorts of rubber strips for boats. Do you have to use the orig. air cleaner box, is it for origionality or can you use K&N filters on the carbs instead? They flow a lot better and look better but just not origional equipment. If you do find something to work you will prob. need some of that glue that they use to put down rubber seals on hatchbacks, it's sold by motorsport and victoria british.
