Restoring a Louver

543 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  black gold man
Hey guys, i got a 260z and i recently got a rear louver off ebay, it was in pretty good shape the rubber is still usable and i replaced all the rivets. However one of the hinges is missing and i am not sure how i want to go about attaching to my car. What has everyone done? If i don't have to drill that would be great. Zstore offers their "no-drill" bracket special order for 50 + ship, which is about what i paid for the louver, and i also don't know if it would fit. Anyway. Let me know if you have found any good solutions. THANKS!

Its just holes that can be welded up later. if you cant live with that, maybe you shouldnt put them on. The only thing I can think of is panel bond. But you would have to scuff the paint off down to the metal. gasp!
I don't mind having the to drill, i would prefer not to, but i also need to find hinges cause i only have one. my car is getting painted in a month or so, i don't mind doing stuff to it now. I just want to get it resolved before paint.
Good. you are thinking right. racing green is the fad right now. though it was only on 70 and 71s from the factory. looks like every other z will be that color. a few years ago every other one was silver. i paint mine whatever the stock color was. Except one. i let my woman pick a stock color. she went with light blue poly.
