I am looking to completely get rid of the stock intake filter on my 83ZX Turbo, and replace the whole **** thing with a high perfomance inline canister filter - I was wondering who has done this to thier Z and which Brand to go with. Price isn't really a concern - I can't afford anything anyway - so it doesn't matter how much in debt I go. The previous owner had a big 'ol exhaust system installed on the car, so now I am looking for the best way to get air into the engine, and those stock intake casings have an itty bitty neck leading from it to the airflow meter which seems a bit silly to me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Dave

You can take a look at mine. Others have done similar. An alternative to mine is to get an even bigger air filter or even use 3 mandrel bent pipe. Once you do this modification I think that the main restriction is the AFM and the throttle body and not the air filter so it doesn't matter which method you use.
