relay removal?

373 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Zuber
I think I have my fuel pump problem narrowed down to the relay on my '77 280. The problem is I can't seem to get at those two pesty screws holding it in place. I can get an angled driver to the outside one, but can't turn it. Any clues? Thanks.

Simple, undo the four twelve ml nuts and drop the whole pump assembly. Your 78 should be the same as my 76 260.If not, sorry.Anyway good luck.
Jock.
I can't picture it in my mind, but when I have trouble with screws, I use a helper. Get a pair of needlenose vice grips, and try to grab the sides of the screw. Use in conjunction with a screwdriver and they practically jump out!

Were you able to get your pump to shut off by unplugging and plugging in your relay?
