Hi, Z Specialties, Inc. in Washington State sells a rear speaker panel for the various Zs and ZXs (picture below). If any of you have purchased and installed, would you either post your experience or pm me? I'm interested in construction, fit, appearance, etc. It is the only product of its type I have found.

Thanks,

JGW

I think msa has one also. pretty much the same design. Don't be like the guy in tacoma that failed to bolt his speakers down in his Z and when he hit something they came forward and killed him.
wait, now i need to see the artical about the guy who killed him self

I have this panel in my 82 ZXT and no way the panel and the speakers will move,The panel hold by the hatch latch and two screws on the sides and the speaker hold down with four bolts each.
It looks nice and I have Two extra speakers.

Oh yes frank ,you saw it in person.
If you talk to both places you'll end up going with zspecialties. Fitment looks great. Installation on a speakerbox... If you have trouble with it, I'll send my girlfriend over to install it.
I built mine using 3/8'" plywood and covering with the usual stuff available from a local custom installation shop. I used heavy cardboard to make a template. I've been told my fitment is superior to the MSA. About $30 in parts. Mounted with hinges hidden under the carpet and a small latch by the hatch latch for easy access. Make a nice complement to the 12" sub where I used to have a spare tire...(S30, though)

If you click "additional options" under the reply text box (using standard reply not quick reply) there is an "attach" option. Just browse to where your photos are.

I doubt u have the spare tire still installed on the car with that sub installed? well u might be able to do it if u turn the tire upside down
