You can take your radiator to local shop to put in 4 core in for about $200. That way, you do not need to dril holes to mount a 280 rad. YMMV.

What is the main difference in radiators between the 240 and 280. I believe I was told the 280 was larger...i.e. when mounted it would hang lower on a 240 cause it was taller. That and it's a 3 row. Were 240 raditors just unique, in overal dimensions? besides being only 2 row?

you dont have to drill holes to mount a 280 radiator in a 240.
it is just a bit taller as you said and hangs down about 2 inches lower than a stock 240 rad. it bolts directly in the same holes as the 240 rad. i have installed 280 rads in a couple of my 240's and they work perfect.

Yet with it hanging lower, is there a problem when driving of scraping it or anything? I can't imagine it would, seeing as the body's are practically identical, but had to ask...
