I'm thinking about buying a 78Z that looks very nice except for two bubbles about 1-3 inches directly below gas filler inlet. It doesn't have rust in the "usual" spots, and these bubbles look like rust coming to the surface. What causes this? Are there inlet tubes/hoses going into the gas tank that could be leaking or is the seam b/t gas door recess and quarter panel letting water run down the inside of the panel and rust about 3 niches below the gas door? Car had a $2000 paint job 3 years ago.
Secondly, does anybody have a Nissan 78Z service manual they would sell for $50, or could I persuade somebody to spend about 4-5 hours making a good copy theirs for $100?

RE: Question about weird rust spot & 78' ser.

Will, I cant help on the rust ? but if you look a few days back there are a few post on where to get manuals for your Z. Also look in the archives. Just go to search forum and put manuals in. Good luck
