hi , got 84 n/a , have had problem with noises that , i thought was aloose
shock ,noise seemed to be coming from rear speaker,area,when take off
change gears , took in to shop to have checked guy said ,alot of z31 end of having bad mount insulator,and on right side , my question ,would this
be maybe something i could do myself or is it better go ahead and pay someone to do it,i think the part alone is 50.00 , thanks for any suggestions,

Is it like a clunking sound? If it is I got the same problem with mine I got an 84 n/a too.

yes it is clunking noise ,and i swear seems like temp affects
i guess its no big deal ,but unless you cut up the music it gets
on you nerves,i just no know how much trouble it is to fix

I had the exact same problem with my 86 n/a. It was the carrier or insulator mount that connects the back of the rear end to the body. It's not hard at all to replace. When you take it off you'll probably notice that u can pull the 2 peices of the mount apart which shouldn't happen. The rubber just gets old, starts to get hard and eventualy cracks. Then all you're doing it hitting metal on metal which is the clunk you're hearing.
