·Hi folks,
77 280Z
Actually it is a remanufactured AFM. It won't be here for another week so I just couldn't resist taking the old one apart. Just popped the black cover off and watched the mechanism move to the throttle. Interesting to see how fast that thing responds to any throttle movement. I may end up keeping it for a spare since the core charge is only $30.
My questions are:
1. Do I need to have the new AFM set or is it set from the (re) manufacturer? Someone had mentioned the need for a CO meter to set them.
2. Can you tinker with these units for higher performance? The engine in this 77 is quite modified and I do not want to run a too lean mixture.
Thanks again for the responses.
John
