Hi folks,
Getting ready to do some work on this outstanding 77 I just purchased. It is a bit of a mutt as it has an 81 block, 79 head, 83 transmission and a 79 rear end. There are three sensors at the front of the head. One appears to be for the temperature gauge as it is a bullet style connector. The other two have the F.I. harness and connectors. I am assuming they are the water temperature sensor and the thermotime sensor, both for the F.I.

My question is: Am I safe to assume that since the brain box is a 77, when I order the two sensors I should order them for a 77 even though the head is a 79? I am also wondering if it even matters since the sensors may be the same for both the 77 and 79? Thanks for your input. John. JML 77 280Z

The part numbers are the same for those years in Victoria British catalog. I would check the sensors out before replacing. Clean the connectors and check resistance per factory manual. They may be ok.
