Were the later 280Z's equipped with the same system that prevents starting the car unless it is in neutral as the earlier 240/260s? If not, is there still a place on the gearbox to mount such a switch? My car is a Canadian model, and was never equipped with these things. Thanks

Well, I'm trying to put in a remote car starter, and I'm looking for a way to have it automatically disabled if the car is in gear.

I could do that, but I wanted a remote starter so I wouldn't even have to go outside(no garage) and start it when it's -40. Living in Canada sure sucks

I wanted to do the same thing to my 5 speed truck but the kits are supposed to work on automatics only.. Good luck..

you could just install the kit normaly and then just make sure you leave it in nutral and put the parking break on. i dont understand why you would want a thing to make it NOT start when it is in neutral. im going to add this once i get my viper installed (cant do it with a crapy bulldog)..
