Ok, I'm about to do a new stereo install in the Z. It's gonna be a good bit of power so I was wondering what you all do about a high output alternator, a dual battery system, or whatever... I've never put a system in anything this old so I was just kinda wondering what you guys do to keep everything from dimming when the bass hits. All opinions are appreciated, and to those that feel like offering no ideas but instead want to ream me for "bumping" - spare me your thoughts, it will fall on deaf ears.

what year is the car? in my '81 280zxt i have 2 twelves, alpine type r. i have around 400 watts running to it and my lights have never dimmed. the speaker can handle lots more but i don't know about these cars. how much power are you looking at?

heres an idea

HAHA fall on deaf ears.... lots of base ) sorry couldnt resist that one. I would get a 1 Farad capasitor to help deal with the base. you can find really good deals on these on Ebay . On all the systems I have installed this helps alot.

hehe, that was kinda silly of me! Anywho, it's a 74 260 and I'm looking at just under 600 watts.
