my 84 300z runs pretty bad when it is cold but after it warms up it goes great. there is a little hesatation untill the turbo kicks in. do you think that it is just old or is there something that i can do to pick her up again. i just changed the distribeter cap and rotor and the fuel filter but that didnt make much of a difference. the k/n air filter looks new and i repalced the vacuume hoses well most of them.

Age has nothing to do with it. Anything made by man can break. And anything that breaks can be repaired or replaced in order to put the vehicle (or any item) back to normal operating/running condition.

CHTS is Cylinder head temperature sensor, having a faulty one can result in many weird/undesireable cold temperature ailments.

It's located on the front of the engine block right about in the middle behind the timing belt cover.
