Probs w Charging Sys/ Alternator Quest??
Hey guys,
Man, the car has a mind of its own now... Starting, and charging.
Alternator test failed when disconnected battery.
Problem 1) New: When I turn the key ignition off, a few of the display lights stay on after I turn the car off. Is this a short in the key ignition switch? All the fuses are good.
History Symptoms: had to start the car ofter by bumping the starter to start it. Getting worst. Then the ignition key will not disconnect (turn off). Battery starts to die when the switch doesnt turn off. Did an alternator test by disconnecting from the battery and the car cut off.
Do any of you think the H-4 head lights may have anything to do with this drainage? Thinking of getting a alternator from a newer Maxima to compensate for the H-4 headlamps.
Most of the time the voltage is steady at about 14v.
