trying to find more pictures on bolt on wheel flares.

i see the pictures on MSA site, but really would like to see them on some actual street cars.

need wheel flares due to the car being too low now after previous owner installed MSA springs and hewent with too wide of tires and they hit even after rolling under the fender lips or other options on how to raise car back up 1/2 inch without putting stock springs back in.

future option might be going with 15 or 16 inch rims with a lower profile tire, but for now its a problem.

Re: pictures of bolt on wheel flares or suggestions on raising c

I'd try some smaller tires or different wheels(different offset). Although some blot on ZG style flares would look nice. Try http://www.rockyauto.co.jp It's a Japanese site with Japanee cars, but it's full of cars with blot flares.

some one correct me if I am wrong bit aren't the upper spring isolators on the 280 different and won't they will raise a 240 a bit??????
Re: pictures of bolt on wheel flares or suggestions on raising c

the car has brand new rims and tires on it, so i hate to fork over $$$ for a new set of all that. the stroker engine comes first we are doing before re-doing the rims/tires.

the previous owner should have gone smaller tires as soon as he drove it out the tire place driveway hitting or they should have seen it was too close and told him.

I have been needing to nose the front down a little. Maybe about a 1" drop in the front. That is for after I finish my turbo setup on her. Then I hate to say it fellas but, she will be going to the bodyshop for metal work and get a coat of paint.... All one color.... ****, she won't know how to act if she looks as clean as she runs...

Flares will cost more than correct used rims. As I recall we already figured out you have the wrong offset wheels? The tires you have -should- clear with the right rim offset.

And Palnet, how do you like those hood scoups? I just got some for mine to put on my new hood.

Hows the SDS setup going? Fixing to fire up the one at work I installed on a turbo IC'd 280 w/440cc/min injectors tomorrow and can email you the setup if it works?! :)

71Hakosuka, your 280Z car is awesome. I think I've said it before, but I have to say it again. Your '71 Skyline isnt bad either:)
Re: pictures of bolt on wheel flares or suggestions on raising c

Thats a nice car Justin. What kind of wheels are those on the G-nose?
Re: pictures of bolt on wheel flares or suggestions on raising c

yea im not sure what my offset is on the rims, but i would think if someone would be spending money on rims they would at least have found out what correct offset to use.
Re: pictures of bolt on wheel flares or suggestions on raising c

You'd think. Then again they may have gotten a "deal" or didn't know to check this? Or even know what the correct offset should be?
Re: pictures of bolt on wheel flares or suggestions on raising c

so do you know off hand what the wheel offset should be for a 73? and would both the front and back be the same?

i looked the rims up and they seem to be 14x6.5 with 3-7/16 backspacing with a -6mm offset according to the catalog. that is the only size available in a 14" size with the Datsun bolt pattern.

if i jump up to same brand/look/bolt pattern in a 15x7 that rim has 4" backspacing with 0 offset which is what i think it should be, but then id have to make an allowance for the 1" gain in rim height as i think it would rub more even with more backspacing. **** this gets confusing!

those bolt on flares dont look too bad.

i need to take a picture of the clearances outside and inner and post them. im wondering with the rear disc conversion if maybe they couldnt use the stock offset?
